The Best Yoga Spot in Colorado Springs

Best Yoga Teachers

Praxis Yoga is a teacher driven studio offering a qualitative approach to the practice of mindful physical movement and moving meditation. We feel that all practices of skilled physical movement--be it yoga, pilates, dance, cross training, gymnastics, acrobatics-- fill a medicinal need for the body, mind, and soul.

What do we mean when we say teacher driven?

Simply put, this means we let good teachers offer good classes.

What makes a good teacher?

Our teachers are committed to physical practice and let their passion shine through.

We hire and cultivate instructors who are highly experienced (a minimum

of 5 years teaching experience is required to work here), widely educated across physical disciplines, are knowledgeable, and who consistently present their own successful quality of style. We believe a practice of mindful physical movement is key for overall mental and physical health of all. We strive to make skilled practices available to all bodies, backgrounds, and abilities.

Quality means experience and education

Gentle Vinyasa

Hot Vinyasa

Hot vinyasa is a blend of poses from the 60-minute hot sequence we know and love with flowing sequences pairing breath to movement derived from vinyasa styles of yoga. This class format builds strength and flexibility in both mind and body, and allows a deep release of muscle tension thanks to the heat and humidity. All levels are welcome and modifications are always offered in order to increase or decrease difficulty level. Mat, towel, and water bottle are required.

Ashtanga REmix

Ashtanga yoga is the traditional dynamic, breath centered practice that develops body awareness, strength, an internal compass, and allows one to connect on a subtle level. Shapes are held much longer to refine poses and focus on muscle engagement. The use of props and lots of modifications will be provided. The class will include a short form of the standing primary series as well as part of the seated series. As it is a REmix, we will not be doing every shape in the series and will add on some fun options and modifications along the way. This is an all levels class with no prior experience needed in Ashtanga. Come REconnect, REnew, REfresh in this REmix.

Candlelight Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga class lit by multicolored LED candles with mellow music.

YogiFit

A dynamic workout to compliment one's Yoga practice. A combination of mat Pilates, HIIT, Tabata, cardiovascular fitness, and free weights.

Expect some challenge and some relaxation, with options to stay seated in the chair or to stand and work with the chair as a support.
Suzanne is an experienced instructor in chair-based yoga, Pilates, and general fitness. She loves working with people and tailoring the practice to meet your unique needs. Please let her know of any injuries or health conditions so your practice can be safe and to your greatest benefit.

Community Care Gentle Yoga

This class is designed for everyone, regardless of ability or identity, with special emphasis on down-regulating the nervous system to stimulate the "rest and digest" response of the body. Students benefit from the restorative, relaxing, and centering approach of this class as they are gently guided through yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditations. Students will be encouraged to stay present, feel their feelings, and tune-in to their inherent mind-body communication. As this class is trauma-informed, safety (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual) is a priority, opening space for the student to experiment, breathe, and slow down to foster awareness and connection in an empowering and caring environment. All levels welcome. Heat level: none.
